April 6, 2020

 NOTE FROM THE OFFICE

Starting Monday, April 6th, Holy Cross’ phone lines will be open every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm with the exception of Easter Monday.  We are also available on-line Monday through Friday and you can contact us via email at office@holycross.bc.ca. Our office is not open to the public at this time.

There are a few families who have not returned their registration package for the 2020/21 school year with the intention of submitting their registration package after Spring Break.  We are encouraging parents to scan their documents and send the registration package via email to office@holycross.bc.ca   Also, an on-line payment option  has been created for the payment of registration fees.   The payment option is labeled “Custom Payment”  and is now available at https://www.holycross.live/online-payments.   This custom payment feature allows parents to pay for fees, such as registration, that are not already itemized through an individual department.

Today from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, and Wednesday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, there will be a drop off box left outside the main entrance of the school.  Parents who are not able to scan their registration documents can drop their registration package in the drop-off box.  Please do not include cash (cheques only) and ensure that the registration package is placed in an envelope.

As we continue to move forward, families are encouraged to visit our virtual sacred space.  It’s a place to embrace our faith during this challenging time.  https://www.holycross.live/sacred-space .  Below is a message from Holy Cross’ Campus Ministry Team regarding the Sacred Space and Stations of the Cross.

Campus Ministry Team

This week marks Holy Week which leads up to our most Holy of days, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Traditionally we begin the Passion Narrative together as a Holy Cross community by praying the Stations of the Cross at school. But this year, with most of us unable to leave our homes, prayer looks different for us.

We would like to share with our Holy Cross community the opportunity to still pray together virtually the Stations of the Cross on Thursday at 2:30 pm. This prayer will be led by our Campus Ministry team. You can access it through our online Sacred Space.   https://www.holycross.live/sacred-space

We will pray and reflect on fourteen moments commemorating what Jesus endured during his last days on Earth as man. We will be guided through this journey with help from Father Rob Galea who we were very fortunate to have visit our school last November.

As an Easter gift to all of our families, we would like to extend access to Father Rob's digital resource to pray the Stations of the Cross at home with your families. This resource has scripture, meditations and journals for all fourteen stations and is a beautiful and calming prayer experience in an engaging format.

With this resource you are able to move through each Station at your own pace. You may wish to pray and reflect on one or more Stations a day and watch the video and spend time in prayer and reflection at a pace you are comfortable with.

May peace be with you and may this resource draw you closer to Jesus in this time of Lent.

God Bless
Holy Cross Campus Ministry Team
